2 Storey Extension

This was a two storey extension where we supplied the shell and roof as the clients wanted to finish the inside off themselves.

The job was pretty straight forward although when we had to join to the existing house we had to work with the bat protection agency, this was to ensure any living bats were safely removed.

This was an interesting build, battling the elements and digging in clay. We underpinned the old existing walls and totally gutted the building, the old floors came up and were lowered and re done to accommodate insulation and underfloor heating.

To say the least, he had it difficult from the start, heavy rain for weeks, awkward site constraints, a high water table, having to liaise with difficult neighbours and a client with a keen eye.

However , the true test was that in the midst of the extension COVID-19 came about. Fortunately Dan had the four sight of what might come with suppliers and ordered all the materials to get us through the final stages of the build whilst at all times adhering to the social distancing.

Dan spent a good deal of time setting out and getting all his levels spot on which i know i paid dividend now that the job is complete. His brickwork was second to none and was his block work, its a shame really that its going to be rendered. Something often over looked by builders is not giving you adequate time to make important decisions. This simply wasn't the case for Dan, all the way through i was kept informed be it good or bad, and if it was the latter then a solution was found. He was happy to give his opinion when asked on design ideas and could read architect  and technical drawings with ease.

I would happily recommend Dan to friends and family and would use him again without hesitation if the need ever arose.

2 storey extension to create a new family bathroom, full refurbishment upstairs.

This job was running so smoothly until we were held up with the unforeseen COVID 19, this had delayed the stairs being fabricated and the windows being installed. It is now there and has really transformed the upstairs living space.

All the old ceilings were taken down, then we raised the height of them to give the rooms a bigger feel and really show off the oak beams. All the external walls were insulated with insulated plasterboard to help keep it warmer and all the loft space was re-insulated. All the electrics were renewed as were old and a new consumer unit was added. So they now have an en-suit bathroom and a new family bathroom upstairs. and the family living room has been made more spacious.

This was a external shell job for a local builder, we did the ground work, internal and external block work and then faced up with stone.
